Before I start, the disclaimer here is: Do your own research hence the name research peptides. Also consult with your PCP before beginning any regimen that may affect your health. This is not to diagnosis or treat- education purposes only.
I was led to this rabbit hole on my quest to find an affordable option for GLP1 meds that is relatively safe. You have to think, compound pharmacies are getting it from somewhere and about 70% of our country's pharmaceuticals come from other countries. So when I came across research peptides, I was open to understanding more.
Check out my blog post on Insulin Resistance and how we can benefit from GLP1 peptides -
What are research peptides?
Research peptides are basically chains of amino acids that make up our growth hormone. Our growth hormone dictates a lot of what goes on in our bodies. With research peptides you can actually focus on what areas need like mental, weight loss, strength, skin etc. This is truly a fascinating topic if you love understanding how the body works.
Ok so what does this have to do with GLP1?
GLP1s are peptides! Which means yes these same peptides that are apart of our growth hormone chain are also being used for weight management.
What's the difference?
With research peptides, there are no doctors or pharmacy. You must do your own research and decide what may be best for your test subject (yourself or whomever), and you are responsible for mixing and administering.
When you use a telehealth company, you have access to a licensed provider, pharmacy and support team-sometimes.
You have to decide what your comfortable with and what your willing to do. This is all for informational purposes only.
Is there a price difference?
Yes a drastic one. Eliminating the provider and pharmacy allows companies who sell research peptides at an affordable price. Do your research, check for COA's for their products (lab reports), search their name for reviews and join facebook groups to read real life experiences with companies.
Is it hard to mix research peptides on your own?
I'd say it depends on what your comfortable with doing. There are so many influencers who share videos online showing the process thoroughly. I'd suggest researching and getting familiar with what's necessary. Compounding pharmacies come already prepared and you may have to draw up medication. With research peptides, you will have to mix the peptide with bacteriostatic water. This means you'll need to understand measurements and dosages. It's not as confusing as it sounds, there are several charts including an online calculator that tells you precisely what to measure.
What are my thoughts on research peptides?
As of now, my 'test subject's' experience has been a positive one. I'll do a new blog post soon updating on what was used, how long and if it worked. I will say, it's worth looking into if you are looking for an affordable means to have access to peptides for health.
